Services

Following is a list of the current services and towards the bottom, a timetable and special events. Use the menu bar at the top to jump to a specific section.

Fish WorshipFlowers

Our morning Services begin at 10:30 and last about one and a quarter hours. We follow Series Preaching from the Bible, believing it to be God’s word for us today. Our worship aims to be a blend of the traditional and contemporary. All ages are welcome and provided for, including children and babies.

The evening Worship is discussion based and includes times of sharing as well as worship and prayer.

We also celebrate Holy Communion which focuses us on the Cross where Christ died for sins making forgiveness and new life available for all who will receive him (the very heart of the Christian good news). This is on a monthly basis both in the morning and evening worship times.

All of our Services are led by a variety of people.

Fish Extra Activities

As a group of believers we believe that the Gospel is for sharing and therefore we are committed to mission and evangelism both at home and overseas. We also believe that for Christians to grow in their relationship with Christ and love for one another, and the world, there needs to be provision for meeting together on a regular basis. Nothing of eternal value can be achieved without prayer. For this reason, our activities include:

  • Monthly Cafe church- held jointly with the Anglican church on the 2nd Saturday in the month in Shrivenham school.  Come along for an informal morning - see below for details.
  • Outreach events
  • Weekly ‘Refreshers’ Coffee and chat on a Tuesday morning from 8.30 am
  • We have a weekly Songs and stories  for little ones on a Wednesday morning.  Termtime  - April 18th - May 23rd and June 6th - July 18th.  For details, click:HERE
  • Monthly Saturday Coffee Shop
  • Regular pastoral/fellowship group meetings
  • Wednesday afternoon Fellowship
  • Church Bible study
  • Weekly Saturday am Prayer Breakfast and mid week Prayer fellowship
  • Active support of Tradecraft and Fairtrade products
  • Active support of the Phakamisa Project in South Africa
  • Children and youth activities

Café Inspire meets in Shrivenham school hall on the second Saturday of the month between 10 andCI 11:30am. Just come for a cup of coffee and a chat, perhaps also taking the opportunity to have a bacon roll or a home made cake or to read some of the day's newspapers. Our younger guests can play with a range of toys, join in crafts or compete with each other on Kinect which is a television based games consol similar to the Wii. We have a regular discussion time when matters related to Christian beliefs and/or current affairs are considered (eg "What would Jesus say to........") etc.

We co-operate in Mission and Ministry with the local Parish Church wherever possible, including joint outreach and worship on special occasions. We support ECHO’s singing group.

Fish Children & Youth

Our Children’s and Youth Programme is currently under review. At present, our Minister and members conduct regular assemblies, and are active within, the local Schools.

We have a long association with Crusaders (now Urban Saints) and Scripture Union.

For those interested, the Sunday morning services include a children's talk and colouring equipment (and flags!) for younger children. We worship together as a family for the first 15 minutes, then children are invited to attend the creche and Sunday School.
